Donald “Don” H. DeRosia, 68, of Onaway, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 after a five-year battle with cancer.
Don was born July 6, 1950, in Cheboygan, the son of Richard and Isabell (Lou) DeRosia. Somewhat of a prankster, he enjoyed jokes and was known for his sense of humor.
He studied in the trades and was an avid woodworker and craftsman who built his own log cabin. Don had a strong love for flying and skydiving, playing cards with friends, and honing his culinary skills. He also liked traveling and really enjoyed learning and trying new things, such as painting, which he grew to love and appreciate.
Surviving are his children, Doug DeRosia, Laura Mehan, Val DeRosia and Cassandra DeRosia; three grandchildren, Holly and Sara Mehan, and Aidan DeRosia; sisters, Patty, Mary and Barb; a brother, Russell; and several nieces and nephews.
The family welcomes you to join them in celebrating Don’s life between 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday, October 7, at Forest Township Hall (Tower Hall) in Tower. There will be a casual lunch served.
