Betty A. Vogelheim

Betty A. Vogelheim, 88, of Rogers City went to meet her maker October 15, 2018 at MidMichigan Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She was born March 25, 1930 in Rogers City to Anthony and Agnes (Yarch) Mulka. 

After graduating from Rogers City High School in 1948, she was employed by General Telephone Company. She married Franklin Vogelheim December 30, 1950 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with the Rev. C. T. Skowronski officiating. They were blessed with five children. The Vogelheims made their home in Rogers City for 30 years, moved to Grand Lake for 18 years, then returned to Rogers City in 1999. 

Betty is survived by four sons, Charles (Sandy) of Rogers City, Claude (Pam) of Rogers City, Curt (Annette) of Rogers City and Frank (Dianne) of Taylorsville, North Carolina; a daughter, Celeste (Dennis) Szczerowski of Big Rapids; she leaves 14 dearly cherished grandchildren, Sara (Joe) Royston of Grand Rapids, Erika Malinowski of Grand Rapids, Jessica (Joe) Higley of Cedar Springs, Heather (Chad) Cook of Flushing, Casey (Steven) Sager of Escanaba, David (Erin) Vogelheim of Rogers City, Bub Vogelheim of Rogers City, Chris (Kacie) Vogelheim of Durham, North Carolina, John (Laura) Szczerowski of Grand Ledge, Kristina (R.J. Archambo) Vogelheim of Chicago, Jenna (Judd) Vekaryasz of Rogers City, Mook Vogelheim of Rogers City, Brittany (Justin) Crisp of Taylorsville and Jared Vogelheim of Taylorsville; GG also leaves her beloved great-grandchildren, Michael Malinowski, Wyatt Malinowski, Amber Malinowski, Tyler Eberts, Declan Royston, Dominic Royston, Beau Higley, Celeste Higley, Victor Vogelheim, Vayla Vogelheim, Caige Cook, Cannen Cook, Braylon Vogelheim and Jaxon Crisp; a brother, Donald (Virginia) Mulka; and a brother-in-law, Richard (Janet) Vogelheim. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin; parents; three sisters, Angeline Gordon

, Clara Modrzynski and Margaret Gordon; five brothers, Edmund Mulka, Clarence Mulka, Henry Mulka, Carl Mulka
and Wally Mulka. 

Friends may visit at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church Friday, October 19, from 9 a.m. until time of her Memorial Mass at 10 am with the Rev. Rolando Silva officiating. 

Inurnment will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Ignatius Catholic School in Betty Vogelheim’s memory.
