Rapheal Richard “Ray” Lenard

Rapheal Richard “Ray” Lenard, 83, of Belknap Township passed away peacefully at Orchard Manor July 18, 2018.

Ray was born June 30, 1935 in Posen to John and Stella (Pieczynski) Leonard.

On August 10, 1957 he married Frances Durecki at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in
Rogers City. Ray and Fran along with family and friends enjoyed traveling to 40 of
the United States including many of the western states and Mammoth Caves in
Kentucky (first time on their honeymoon and later on a family trip).

His summer
vacations were spent camping and traveling to see the good old U.S.A.
Every family vacation was started with a family prayer for safe travels. After retirement from A-P Super Service as a mechanic, Ray and Fran enjoyed traveling to the East Coast, Florida, Hawaii, Las Vegas and many trips to Texas to visit their son as well as a cruise thru the Panama Canal and a cruise to Alaska.

Ray was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trips to the casino.

Ray survived his children, Monica (Bill) Hoffman, Kathleen (Dean) Krey, Joe (Ann) Lenard, Rich Lenard and Bernadette Lenard; and husband Ken; nine grandchildren, Michael Krey,
A.J. (fiancée, Megan Motz) Krey, Isaac Krey, Amanda Lenard, Nathan Lenard, Kayla Lenard, Samantha Lenard, John Lenard and Hannah Lenard; a great-granddaughter, Kamryn Krey; and his father, John Leonard.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Fran; and mother, Stella.

Visitation was at the Beck Funeral Home Monday, July 23, where the rosary was recited followed by the parish wake service. Visitation resumed at St. Ignatius Catholic Church Tuesday until time of Mass with the Rev. Rolando Silva officiating.

Interment followed at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, Posen First Responders or St. Ignatius Athletics in memory of Ray Lenard.

The Lenard family would like to thank the caregivers from Hospice of Michigan and everyone at Orchard Manor for the loving care they gave to Ray.
