Wilma A. Trapp

Wilma A. Trapp, 68, of Hawks passed away peacefully at home May 4, 2018 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 20, 1949 in Alpena to William and Eva (Mielke) Luetzow. Wilma graduated from Rogers City High School in 1967. On October 12, 1968 she married Tony Trapp at Hope Lutheran Church in Hawks. She attended nursing school in the Sault where she earned a nurse’s aide certificate. Wilma worked at the Rogers City Hospital for many years until it closed, then worked at Rogers City Rehab. Throughout her career as a nurse’s aide she was also a caregiver to many in our area. Wilma loved working in her yard and tending to her flower gardens. Time spent with family and friends was dear to her.

Wilma is survived by her husband, Tony; two daughters, Corrie (Erick) Gottlieb of Minnesota and Shellie (Joseph) Kasuba of Indian River; siblings, Ida Mae Bruning of Rogers City,
Eleanor (Art) Strohschein of Royston, Ruth Weiland of Hillman and her twin brother, William (Teresa) Luetzow Jr. of Ishpeming. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eva. Visitation was at Faith Lutheran Church in Hawks Monday, May 7, through time of her funeral with the Rev. Dr. Jack Ferguson officiating. Burial followed at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Hawks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Friends Together in Alpena. Arrangements are in care of the Beck Funeral Home.
