He was born August 17, 1930 in Posen to John and Mary (Purol) Misiak.

Mark grew up on the family farm in Posen. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War as a heavy equipment mechanic near the front line. On May 14, 1955 he married Eleanor Krawczak at St. Ignatius Catholic Church.

Mark retired from Presque Isle Corporation after 40 years of dedicated service as a very detailed-oriented heavy equipment mechanic. If there was a piece of equipment that no one else could repair, Mark was called in to finish the job. Mark was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was also a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a life member of the Posen Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 7804. He was an avid gardener who looked forward to planting, tending to and giving away most of what he grew.

Mark and his dad built the home where he and Eleanor raised their family. He loved visiting with family, friends and neighbors, whether it was at his home, the family hunting camp or at the Posen Potato Festival. He worked hard so that he and Eleanor could take their family on summer vacations where lasting memories were made. He cherished time spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor “Tootsie”; six children, Sandy Grant of Greenville,
Wisconsin, Jane (Randy) Kamysiak of Grand Lake, Ken (Sherry) Misiak of Grand Lake, Karen (Roger) Send of Traverse City, Natalie (John) Merrill of Stanley, North Carolina and Steve (Kristen) Misiak of Grand Lake; 22 grandchildren, Kerri (Aaron) Springborn, Mark Gajsiewicz, Matthew (Karina) Grant, Wendy (Hermes) Fernandez, Keith (Christoph) Kamysiak, Brandon Misiak, Jeremy Misiak, Nicholas Misiak, Amanda (Jake) Makowski, Jason (Jessica) Send, Kelly (Trevor) Brace, Melissa Send, Christopher (Katie) Couture, Allen (fiancée, Emily) Couture, Shaun Couture, Jonathan (Jordan) Merrill, David Merrill, Don Merrill, Jaclyn Merrill, Caipan Merrill, Libby Misiak and Oliver Misiak; 10 great-grandchildren, Cylas, Maddox, Cassandra, Madeline, Abe, JoJo, Henryk, Jackson, Jaiden and Arya; and four siblings, Virginia Niedzwiecki, John Misiak Jr., Louis Misiak and Floyd Misiak.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary;
five siblings, Raymond Misiak, Eugene Misiak, Anna Muszynski, Tony Misiak and Jerry Misiak.

Visitation was at the Beck Funeral Home Sunday, May 6, where the Third De

gree Knights of Columbus recited the rosary at 6:30 p.m. followed by the parish wake service.

Visitation resumed Monday at St. Casimir Catholic Church through time of Mass with the Rev. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating. VFW Post 7804 accorded military honors following Mass.

Interment took place at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery.

Mark will be remembered for his humble caring way of putting others before himself.
He will be deeply missed by his family. Heaven just got a little happier and a new fiddler in the band.

Memorials may be given to Posen VFW Post 7804 in memory of Mark Misiak.
