Aloysius Gerald Szczerowski, 78, passed away March 31, 2018. He was born December 8, 1939, in Posen to Dominic Anthony and Anna (Gutt) Szczerowski.
Aloysius married the love of his life, Karen Anne (Heath) Szczerowski, November 13, 1965, in Detroit. Aloysius loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to putz around, always keeping busy. He enjoyed deer hunting, gardening and volunteering throughout the years at St. Joe’s and St. John’s. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Aloysius will be missed by his spouse, Karen; his children, Paul Anthony (partner, Bill Leffler), Diane Rose (Timothy) Bohn and Lynnette Marie (Karl) Julien; siblings, Mary Ann Mulka, Phyllis Soik, Sam Szczerowski, Lois Bruder, Leona Ursu, Cynth Lewandowski and Denise Julian; grandchildren, Hayley Bohn, Hannah Bohn, Jakob Julien and Willow Julien. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Anna Szczerowski; siblings, Virginia Schellie and Ervin Szczerowski.
Aloysius’ family and friends gathered Wednesday, April 4, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Howell. The Rev. Dave Speicher served as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the V.A. Ann Arbor Healthcare System or the Michigan Parkinson Association.
