Emma Glee Whinnery

Emma Glee Whinnery, 97, of Greenville, Tennessee passed away at Holston Valley Medical Center.

 

1218-obit-WhinneryShe was a native of Sheridan, Vickeryville, but moved to Florida then to Tennessee near her son.

Mrs. Whinnery was the daughter of the late Colonel M. Chambers and Sarah Frances White, Chambers, Regis.

She taught school, was a seamstress and was in the Wac’s during the war. Emma attended the Lighthouse Assembly of God in G

reenville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Whinnery Jr.; a brother, Dale Chambers and wife Kathy; a sister, Paulene (Chambers) Munn and husband E.J. Munn; and a brother-in-law, Donald Martenies Sr.

Surviving are her son, William L. Whinnery and wife Audrey (Kent) of Greenville; a sister, Beverly (Chambers) Martenies of Rogers City; four grandchildren, April Hull, Jason and Dustin Whinnery, and Nalona Kosma; great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Conner and Riley Hull, and Bella, Lucia and Silas Carpenter, and Violet Whinnery; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside service will be conducted at a later date in Michigan.
