Willis Roy Wirgau
Willis Roy Wirgau, 91, of Rogers City passed away October 19, 2017 peacefully at home.
He was born April 9, 1926 in Belknap Township to Paul and Florence (Bredow) Wirgau.
On July 26, 1947 he married Lucille Grulke at St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working to support his family.
He did excellent masonry work and donated many hours to St. John Lutheran Church and School. He retired from the Calcite plant in 1987 after 38 years
Mr. Wirgau is survived by five sons, Larry (Kristina) of Galesburg, Richard (Debra Shay) of Rogers City, Johnathan (Barbara) of Posen, Kevin (Debbie) of Plainwell and Brock (Sheri Dillon) of Kalamazoo; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, April 10, 1999; daughter, Lisa; granddaughter, Shannon; four brothers, Wilmar, Merlin, Norval and Alvis; and a sister, Mildred Newhouse.
Visitation was at St. John Lutheran Church Monday, October 23, through time of his funeral with the Rev. Eric Voigt officiating.
Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery.
