Radio station WHAK-FM, better know as 99.9 The Wave, will originate its popular morning show from the offices of the Advance Friday.
Morning hosts Brian and Ray will broadcast the morning show from 6-9 a.m. from either the sidewalk outside the Advance or inside the front lobby.
They will be doing their regular features along with hosting a few special guests. Among those expected to appear on the show are Mark Thompson, curator and executive director of the Presque Isle County Historical Museum at 8:15 a.m., longtime Nautical City Festival committee member Mike Myers at 7:45 a.m., Advance publisher Richard Lamb at 7:15 a.m. and throughout the morning, while Mr. Mustache and Company owner David Walters has been invited to appear at 6:45 a.m.
Advance managing editor Peter Jakey, a former on-air personality on the station, will also appear on the show and other guests may pop in throughout the morning. Listeners are invited to stop by and say hello to the radio duo.
The Wave and the Advance have cooperated on other ventures over the years, including the weekly news update each Wednesday featuring a preview of the headlines for that week’s newspaper. That feature with Jakey airs at 7:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. each Wednesday.
