Edward G. Robin, 77, of Alpena, died at home July 24, 2017.

Ed was born September 3, 1939 in Howell to Edward J. and Georgine (Cronin) Robin. He married Peggy Smith September 2, 1961 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Rogers City. Ed enjoyed working for the Saginaw News as well as the Alpena News as the advertising director, but nothing made him prouder than Robin Services- the company he started that found work for the mentally disabled. Ed enjoyed fishing, spending time at camp (though he didn’t actually hunt), and spending time on the lake. He eventually made the lake his full-time residence in 1990. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and president of both the Michigan Jaycees Chapter as well as the Alpena Exchange Club.

Ed is survived by his wife, Peggy; his three children, Rebecca (Robert) Pearsall of Florida, Ann (Scott) Pep

linski of Michigan and Amy (Steven) Brown of Texas; four grandchildren, Jacob, Craig and Hannah Peplinski, and Isabel Robin; three siblings, Margaret Ellen (Dave) Florip, William (Karen) Robin and Rita (Floyd) Risner; daughter in-law, Shannon Robin; and mother in-law, Martha Smith.

He is preceded in death by his son, Steve; and his sister, Carol Horning.

Ed is at McWilliams Funeral where visitation will be held today (Thursday, July 27) from 3 to 8 p.m., and will resume Friday, July 28, at Alpena Catholic Community St. Anne Parish from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11a.m.
