Caroline D. LaLonde

Caroline D. LaLonde, 99, of Moltke Township passed away April 25, 2017 at Rogers City Tendercare. She was born January 27, 1918 in Moltke Township to Charles and Viola (Tulgestke) Sorgenfrei.

Mrs. LaLonde is survived by four children, Charles (Faith) LaLonde of Moltke, Kaye (Richard Scribner) LaLonde of Fernandina Beach, Florida, James (Beth) of Moltke and Daniel of Millersburg; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry (Cathy) Sorgenfrei of Moltke; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; son and daughter-in-law, Larry (Linda); and a sister, Viola Claus Garno.

On June 24, 1942 she married Woodrow “Earl” LaLonde at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Caroline was the Moltke Township clerk for over 30 year

s. She was known for her baking and rice pudding. Mrs. LaLonde contributed the “Moltke News” to the Advance every week. She was always there to welcome a newcomer to the area or console a hurting heart with her love for her Savior and Lord.

Visitation was at the Beck Funeral Home Friday with a prayer service that evening. Visitation continued at Immanuel Lutheran Church Saturday until time of service with the Rev. Eric Voigt officiating.

Interment followed at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
