Helen Katherine Mulka Hopp

Helen Katherine Mulka Hopp, 94, of Rogers City passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.

She was born October 10, 1922 to the late Paul Mulka and Anna Mulka Dembny. Helen was a lifelong member of the St. Ignatius Rosary Society.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Carroll P. Hopp, who was a longtime proprietor of Hopp’s Standard Service station at the corner of Third and Erie, Rogers City.

Also surviving are two sons, Neil (Linda) of Mt. Pleasant and Jeffrey of Rogers City;
two daughters, Carole Ann of Rogers City and Christine of Gaylord; eight grandchildren, Kelli Hopp-Michlosky, Charlotte, North Carolina, Todd (Marlene) Hopp, Gaylord, Jennifer (Nate) Ryan, Detroit, Amy Hopp, Chicago, Stacey (Ryan) Bosley, Marquette, and David Shadbolt, Sheri Phillips and Sarah (Lyle) West, Rogers City;
eight great-grandchildren, Mandy, Gaylord, Aaron, Jacob, J

ade and Caitlynn, Rogers City, Nora and Theodore, Detroit and Madison, Marquette; two great-great-grandchildren, Hazel and Haden, Cheboygan.
Also surviving are sisters, Ester (Santimo), Pauline (Henry), Dorothy (Morley) and Martha (Smolinski). She was preceded in death by two sons, Randolph and James of Rogers City; sisters, Mary (Biernott), Sophie (Socia) and Patricia (Gabrysiak); and a brother, Gerald Mulka.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Catholic Church of Rogers City, Friday, April 7, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Fitzpatrick officiating. Visitation is at the church at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan. Arrangements are in care of the Beck Funeral Home.
