Stanley John “Stan” Maggi

Stanley John “Stan” Maggi, 84, passed away February 27, 2017 at the CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville, North Carolina.

Stanley was born May 6, 1932 to the late Paul and Stella Maggi.

He lived for 23 years in Rogers City. Mr. Maggi was a Vietnam veteran and retired from the U.S. Air Force, after 20 years of service. Stanley was a member of the St. Lawrence Basilica in Asheville and St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Rogers City.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting, woodworking and camping.

Surviving Stanley is his loving wife of 41 years and seven months, Gail Rosalie Borgquist Maggi; children, Sonny Maggi of Chesapeake, Virginia, Larry Maggi of Chesapeake, Steve Maggi and wife Mary of York, Pennsylvania, Sharan Able and husband Charles of Glouster, Virginia, Gerald Maggi and wife Jill

of Ortonville, David Maggi of Northville, Christopher Galleck and wife Noelle of Port Austin, Nils Galleck and wife Harriet of Pontiac, Michael Maggi and ex-wife Marsha of Clinton, Tennessee, daughter, Gabrielle Maggi of Asheville, North Carolina; 25 Grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and many cousins in 84-PA.

A memorial service was held Saturday, March 11, at New Life Community Church in Asheville with the Rev. Mark Carlson officiating. Stanley will be buried at the Western Carolina State Veterans’ Cemetery in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
