Ralph J. Kortman, 81, of Rogers Township passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2017.
He was born November 11, 1935 in Belknap Township to Clarence F. and Helena Ida (Ristow) Kortman.
Ralph graduated from Rogers City High School in 1953. On September 21, 1968 he married Cheryl Myers at St. John Lutheran Church in Rogers City. He retired as a carpenter from Michigan Limestone Operations in 1991.
Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodcarving.
Mr. Kortman is survived by his wife, Cheryl; two sons, Tom (Brenda) of Petoskey and Jon (Jennifer) of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Kristen, Jared, Olivia and Jacob; two sisters, Virgilene (Arnold) Fleming of Rogers City and Lois (Harry) Wcisel of Hawks; and one brother-in-law, Earl Brege of Belknap Township.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Helena; and a sister, Ilene Brege.
Friends may visit at Peace Lutheran Church today (Thursday, January 26) from 10:30 a.m. through time of his funeral at noon with the Rev. J. Derek Riddle officiating.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church or Hospice of Michigan in memory of Ralph Kortman.
