December 29, 2016
The regular meeting of the Board of Road Commissioners for Presque Isle County was held at the Road Commission office at 657 South Bradley, Rogers City, Michigan. Chairman Charles Rhode called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Board Members Present: Charles Rhode, Ronald Bischer, Thomas Catalano
Also Present: Supt. /Mgr Smigelski, Clerk Wirgau, Mechanic Elowsky
Visitor: One.
Minutes:
A motion was approved to accept minutes from December 12, 2016 meeting as presented.
Accounts Payable:
Motion by Bischer (Catalano) to approve the December 12, 2016 accounts payable in the amount of $37,129.48.
Ayes: Rhode, Catalano, Bischer.
9:00 a.m. – Public Hearing – 2017 Budget
A public hearing was held for the purpose of accepting comments on the adoption of the 2017 Budget.
Motions were approved to adopt the 2017 Budget and General Appropriations Act.
Supt./Mgr Report:
• Supt./Mgr. informed the Board of a lower local match for the County Road 451 project (Pinkerton Ave to .5 north of W. Metz Highway) due to the redistribution of Federal funds.
• Supt./Mgr will be attending the MTA meeting to be held at the Rogers Township Hall on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
• Snowfall year to date is: 35”
Unfinished Business:
A motion was approved to cancel an above ground fuel tank pollution liability insurance policy.
A Michigan Caterpillar sales representative appeared before the Board to discuss and answer questions regarding the purchase of extended warranties on two motor graders owned by the Road Commission.
New Business:
A motion was approved to enter an agreement with Rogers Township to place an asphalt overl
A resolution was approved adopting 2016 final budget amendments.
A motion was approved to set the Re-organizational meeting for Monday, January 9, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. with a regular meeting to follow and Monday, January 23, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.
There being no further business it was moved by Rhode (Bischer) to adjourn the meeting at 10:55 a.m.
