James A. Fenstermaker Jr.

James A. Fenstermaker Jr., 49, of Tower, died at home unexpectedly Friday, September 23, 2016.  The son of James A. and Ethel (McMahon) Fenstermaker, Jim was born in Flint, April 14, 1967.

Moving to the area when he was a young boy, Jim was a longtime resident of Onaway and Tower. He made a career working as a salesman, selling campers, recreational vehicles and automobiles.  He also volunteered as a firefighter for the Onaway Fire Department and was an emergency medical technician. Jim enjoyed coaching little league baseball and was a former president of Onaway Area Little League. An outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed camping, fishing and especially hunting for morel mushrooms each spring.  He loved watching sports and win or lose, he always rooted for the Detroit Lions.

A family man, with a big heart, Jim was generous and put others before himself. He loved spending time with his family and would do anything to help them. Jim’s great sense of humor, contagious smile and friendly demeanor will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
