Tania Styma the daughter of Randy and Jane Styma is the new Miss Posen. She also won the talent award for a tap dance presentation.  She put her hands over her face in disbelief as Lyndsey Romel, Miss Posen 2015, came to crown her as the new queen.

“I wasn’t expecting it at all. It is insane, I can’t believe it. I’m so grateful,” the new queen said after the event. “I was so nervous the whole time so I wasn’t sure at all. I think any one of these girls deserve the title as well. I am so honored right now.”

Randy Idalski, in his seventh year hosting the event, did a expert job keeping the pageant moving as master of ceremonies. The pageant committee, consisting of Laura Idalski, Janice Idalski, Ashley Misiak, Rachel Galer, Judy Romel and Amanda Fleming organized an entertaining pageant which went off without any hitches.

Julia Lewandowski and Julie Nelson choreographed the opening number while Judy Romel and Brooke Daniels assisted backstage. Dee Meyers operated a spotlight, Penny Seiler assisted in the dressing room while Brenda Gauthier, Michelle Styma and Stacy Skiba helped the contestants with their makeup. Richard Lamb took the queen’s portrait and the portraits of the contestants for the program.

In addition to fine talent presentations from the contestants, a highlight of the pageant came as more than 20 former Miss Posens came to the stage to be recognized on the 50th anniversary o

f the pageant. Lyndsey Romel also reprised her winning talent from last year, a stunning light stick dance.

Rex and Sherry Manning, of Prestige Productions, expertly managed the sound and the lighting for the event, as they have for many years.

Judges were Caitlin Borke of Alpena, Melanie Roznowski of Alpena and Suzette Kandow of Presque Isle while Julie Rouleau served as auditor.
