Condensed Minutes

June 20, 2016

The regular meeting of the Board of Road Commissioners for Presque Isle County was held at the Road Commission office at 657 South Bradley, Rogers City, Michigan. Chairman Charles Rhode called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.

Board Members Present: Charles Rhode, Ronald Bischer, Thomas Catalano.

Also Present: Supt./Mgr Smigelski, Clerk Wirgau.

Visitors: None.

Minutes:

A motion was approved to accept minutes from June 6, 2016 meetings as presented.

Ayes: All.

Accounts Payable:

Motion by Bischer (Catalano) to approve the June 20, 2016 accounts payable in the amount of $95,250.87

Ayes: Rhode, Bischer, Catalano.

Supt./Mgr Report:

• The County Road 451 projects (638 Hwy to West Mill Highway and Molski Road to West 634 Highway) are tentatively scheduled to start after Labor Day and be completed by mid-October.

• The MDOT maintenance contact audit for 2014 has been completed.

• Discussion was held regarding the upcoming 100^th anniversary of Presque Isle Road Commission. An Open House will be held Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Rogers City location.

• A MTA meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Case Township Hall (old Millersburg School) at 7:00 p.m.

Old Business:

Various ongoing maintenance projects were discussed.

The purchase of a used lead trailer was discussed.

New Business:

A motion was approved to authorize the Chairman to sign the Annual Certification of Employee-related Conditions certifying that medical benefits offered to employees or elected officials are in compliance with PA 152 of 2011.

Supt./Mgr Smigelski presented a report detailing information found in the 2015 MERS Actuarial valuation as of December 31, 2015.

motion was approved to increase the additional contribution amount until the next valuation is received in June of 2017.

The next meetings dates are July 5, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. and July 18, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.

There being no further business it was moved by Bischer (Catalano) to adjourn the meeting at 10:03 a.m.
