Neil Robert Weir was born May 15, 1928 to Robert and Thirza Weir in Flint. He went home to be with the Lord May 28, 2016.

Neil leaves his wife of 40 years, Kathleen (nee Swett) Weir of Black Lake; four stepchildren, Anthony “Tony” (Brenda) Wright of Coral City; Greggory Wright, Marlan Wright and Christine (Clif) Galer, all of Onaway; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as his brother, James (Donna) Weir of Lennon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Joy Community Church, 3845 S. County Line Rd., Onaway Sunday, June 12, beginning at 1 p.m. The Rev. Christopher Rasper will officiate. Neil’s final resting place will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy please consider a donation in memory of Neil to Hospice of the Straits.
