Erwin R. Ganske

Erwin R. Ganske, known as “Pep”, 87, of Onaway, died at home Thursday night, May 26, 2016.  The son of William and Caroline (Weimert) Ganske, Pep was born August 18, 1928 in Ocqueoc.

Surviving Pep are his daughters, Sandra (Glen) Hunter of Toledo, Ohio, Sharon (Thomas) Kazyak of Frankenmuth and Kimberly Christensen of Napoleon, Ohio; his son, Erwin Jr. (Rebecca) Ganske of Napoleon, Ohio; five grandchildren, Brent, Gabrielle, Kristopher, Daniel and Alyssa; as well as six great-grandchildren, Willahmena, Michaelangelo, Trent, Sydney, Daniel and Mason.  Pep also leaves three sisters, Evelyn Wolgast of Ocqueoc, Elaine Orcutt of Alpena and Carol (Larry) Brownell of Flushing; sister-in-law, Isabelle “Lou” DeRosia of Onaway; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was at the Chagnon Funeral Home Monday May 30.  The funeral service was at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ocqueoc Tuesday, May 31, with the Rev. Lloyd Ziebarth officiating.  Pep’s final resting place will be with Renetta at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tower.
