Emilie Rita (Kowalski) Schultz Yarch

Emilie Rita (Kowalski) Schultz Yarch peacefully entered the welcoming arms of her Heavenly Father on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2016 while at home at Orchard Manor in Posen.
She was born in Pulawski Township August 17, 1921 to Joseph H. and Antonia (Szydlowski) Kowalski.

Surviving Emilie are six children, Robert (Irma) Schultz of Cheboygan, Dianne (Larry) Darga of Rogers City, Helmuth W. (Denyse) Schultz III of Grass Lake, Eileen (Kurt) Ries of Rogers City, Richard (Lucinda) Schultz of Borden, Indiana and Lisa (Mark) Slupecki of Traverse City.

She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include a sister, Lorene LaFleche of Hillman; and five brothers, Julian (Joanne) Kowalski of Rancho Cordova, California, Joseph Kowalski Jr. and Wilbert (Nancy) Kowalski of Alpena, Robert (Betty) Kowalski an

d Richard (Rozalynne) Kowalski; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Kowalski of Rogers City.

Those siblings who preceded her include brothers, Raymond of Alpena, Jerome of Rogers City and Elter Kowalski of Hawks; and sisters, Gertrude Miller and Eleanor Neumann of Alpena and Florence “Elsie” Smolinski of Hawks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Helmuth W. Schultz Jr.; second husband, Julian Yarch; a son-in-law, Thomas Bisson; sister-in-law, Delores (Yarch) Kowalski of Alpena, and brothers-in-law, Joseph LaFleche of Hillman, Charles Miller and Ervin Neumann of Alpena, and Alphonse Smolinski of Hawks.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home today (Thursday) from 5 until 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Sylvestre Obwaka officiating. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Friday from 10 a.m. through time of funeral at 11 a.m. with the Rev. J. Derek Riddle officiating.
