Frances Lucy Orzel

Frances Lucy Orzel, 89, of Columbus, has been reunited in heaven April 9, 2016, with her son, Jimmy, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Fred, of 65 years, who has been dedicated to giving her nothing but the best since they met in 1947. Married in 1950, Fred and Fran owned and operated Orzel Well Drilling together from 1965 until 1992. She enjoyed traveling the continental United States in their recreational vehicle each winter and summers at the cottage. Fran will be remembered by allow who knew her as a force to be reckoned with, as matriarch of her of her family, as a champion of cards, as quick with one-liners and as the occasional brawl enthusiast and mostly her love for life.

She is also survived by a son, Rick (Theresa) Orzel; daughter, Beth (Jim) Thornton; grandchildren, Michelle (Jim) Thayer, Chrissy (John) Rostine, Charlotte Orzel, Jimmy (Kristin) Orzel, Kyle Thornton, Laura Thornton, Kayla Christy; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation and rosary were Monday, April 11, at Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral Mass was April 12 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond.
