MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ROGERS CITY CITY COUNCIL

HELD IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS ON MARCH 1, 2016

Mayor Sobeck presided and called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

PRESENT – Adair, Bielas, McLennan, Nowak and Sobeck

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Bielas/Adair, that the minutes of the Workshop and Regular Council Meeting of February 16, 2016 be approved as written. ROLL CALL: Ayes – All, the motion carried.

CITY CLERK’S REPORT:

CHECK AND INVOICE APPROVAL

McLennan/Nowak, that the following total fund expenditures be recognized as payments made and payments to be made, in the amount of $655,301.01 and the Mayor be authorized to sign the check register.

ROLL CALL: Ayes – All, the motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS:

AT&T Proposal/Contract Agreement for Antennas

RESOLUTION 2016-28

Nowak/McLennan, to authorize City Mgr. Hefele to execute the Black & Veatch consent letter, with AT&T to cover engineering cost of $5,550.

ROLL CALL: Ayes – All, the motion carried.

RESOLUTION 2016-29

Adair/Nowak, to accept the proposal from Dixon Engineering in the amount of $5,550.

ROLL CALL: Ayes – All, the motion carried.

REQUESTS:  ALPENA SHRINE CLUB AND FAT HOGS 

RESOLUTION 2016-30

Bielas/Nowak, to approve the Alpena Shrine Club request for their Vidalia Onion Sale between April 25 and May 15, 2016 and their Newspaper Sale to be held on June 24 & 25, 2016, along with the Fat Hogs Fishing Frenzy Ladies Tournament to be

held on July 30, 2016 with an alternate date of July 31, and the main tournament to be held September 3 & 4, 2016 with an alternate date of September 5, with the assistance of City Staff.  ROLL CALL: Ayes – All, the motion carried.

OTHER BUSINESS:

RESOLUTION 2016-31

Nowak/Adair to authorize per diem and mileage for the Regional Target Market Analysis Workshop in Alpena.

ROLL CALL: Ayes – All, the motion carried.
