Alvin L. Parris

Alvin L. Parris, 83, of Rogers City went to the Lord April 16, 2016.
He was born to Harvey and Beatrice (Taylor) Parris May 10, 1932 in Rogers City.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce L. (Jarman) Parris of Rogers City, three sons, Ken (Genia) Carter of Republic, David (Neva) Parris of Goetzville and Roger (Esther) Parris of Drummond Island; 10 daughters, Jonnie (Mark) Jacobitz of Muskegon, Brenda (Woody) Hoisington of Windsor, Vermont, Tammy (Mike) Miga of Marshall, Texas, Lynnet Benton, Debbie Payne, Ellarie Dodge, and Alva Claus all of Rogers City, Victoria (Mike) Mahan of Holland, Massachuttes, Doris Harrington of Hawks, and Beatrice (Kurt) Folkman of Allen, Texas; 36 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Bob Parris, Floyd Parris, Bill Parris and Dale Parris; and sisters, Windy Chrzan, Mary Balthazor, Chloe Jezeski, Delphy Plummer and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was at the Beck Funeral Home Monday, April 18, with a prayer service that evening, followed by a military tribute offered by the Onaway Veternas of Foreign Wars Post 5857. Visitation continued at the funeral home Tuesday through time of funeral with the Revs. Greg and Karen Zurakowski officiating.

Burial and military honors took place at the Ocqueoc Township Cemetery following the luncheon. Memorials may be given to Alvin’s family for a charity to be selected later.
