Gerald Grambau

Gerald Grambau was born February 28, 1923 to Otto and Dora (Dramburg) Grambau at home in Metz. He passed away peacefully with is family near him March 1, 2016, at the home of his daughter Gwen in Sault Ste. Marie, just one day after his 93rd birthday.

When he returned from the war, he set his eyes on his beautiful bride to be Beatrice Burzych. They were married October 31, 1948 at the St. Dominic rectory. They lived on the family farm two miles from Metz and raised cows, pigs, chickens, as well as crops. They were blessed with five children, Gerald (Sue) Grambau of Posen, Gail (Bill) Ruby of Louisburg, North Carolina, Gwen (Don) Knapp of Sault Ste. Marie, Glory (Mike) Kelderhouse of Sault Ste. Marie and Gina (who was stillborn).
He is also survived by six grandchildren, Eric (Becky) Clancy of Coldwater, Craig (Susan) Grambau of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Phil (Amanda) Knapp of L’Anse, Christy (Dave) Wilson of North Pole, Alaska, Cory Hentkowski of Hawks and Niki (Ty) Jensen of Utah. He was blessed with 15 great-grandchildren Luke and Grace Clancy, Abigail and Isaac Grambau, Samson, Deborah, Nathan, Amelia and Juliet Knapp, and Seth, Paul and Hanna Wilson, and Jude, Lennon and Ainsley Jensen.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home Friday from 3 until 8 p.m. with prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Peter Lutheran Church Saturday from 10 a.m. through time of service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Ryan officiating.

Posen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7804 will conduct military honors during graveside services on Saturday.

Memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church in memory of Gerald Grambau.
