Emila “Emily” Wisniewski

Emila “Emily” Wisniewski, 92, of Manistee and Metz passed away February 28, 2016 at home. She was born August 11, 1923 in Posen to John and Dorothy (Pilarski) Hilla.

Mrs. Wisniewski is survived by a daughter, Lynn (Jim) Modrzynski of Manistee;
six grandchildren, Mitch (Melissa) Modrzynski of Manistee, Stacey (Dan) LaComte of Kentwood,
Joe (Lisa) Modrzynski of Eastlake, Christie (Matt) Ricci of Rockford, Brook (Chris) Begres of Sterling and Kim (Gabe) Dvorshock of Bay City; 16 great-grandchildren, Natalie, Gabe and Gwendalyn LaComte, Brody and Blake Modrzynski, Kylie, Emma and Gianna Ricci, Isabelle and Addyson Begres, Gabe, Carter and Presley Dvorshock, Cody Revolt, and Nathan and Devin Garland; three sisters, Delores Hein, Dorothy Gallina and Virginia Wisniewski; five stepchildren, Eugene (Darlene) Wisniewski of Hawks, Suzanne (Larry) Marquardt of Sterling Heights, Sally (Dan) Briedinger of Stanton, Barbara Turner of Wilmington, North Carolina and Janice (Kenneth) Pawelek of Hawks; eight step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home today (Thursday) from 3 until 8 p.m. with the rosary at 6:30 p.m. followed by the parish wake service at 7 p.m.

Visitation will resume at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Metz Friday from noon until time of Mass at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Sylvestre Obwaka officiating.

Interment will take place at St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
Memorials may be given to St. Dominic Catholic Church in memory of Emily Wisniewski.
