John Anthony Tribisondi
John Anthony Tribisondi, 89, of Onaway, died Friday, January 29, 2016 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey. The son of Joseph and Caterina (Accurso) Tribisondi, John was born in Reggio-Calabria, Italy May 30, 1926 and was very proud of his Italian heritage. He married Rose Marie Krinock January 25, 1953 in Detroit. They celebrated 34 years of marriage at the time of Rose’s death in 1987. He later married Frances Restifo December 2, 1988 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Onaway and in 1992 John and Fran moved from Onaway to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
Surviving John is daughter, Judy Tribisondi (Scott Bishop) of Onaway; sons, Mike (Kim) and Ken (Laura), both of Onaway, John (Shelley) of Millersburg, Joe (Dawn) of Cheboygan, and Ed Tribisondi of Utica; wife, Frances Tribisondi of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; as well as two sisters, Angela Perna of Shelby Township and Margaret White of Milan. John was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose, and his older sister, Carmella Tribisondi.
Visitation was Monday, February 1, at the Chagnon Funeral Home in Onaway with a rosary service that evening. John’s funeral was Tuesday, February 2, at Chagnon Funeral Home. His final resting place will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Onaway.
