Ronald C. Beatty
Ronald C. Beatty, 76, of Onaway, died Tuesday January 26, 2016 at McLaren Northern Michigan hospital in Petoskey. The son of Peter and Laura (LaFave) Beatty, Ron was born May 14, 1939. He grew up in Onaway and graduated from Onaway High School in 1957. He married the love of his life, Sallie Cochran August 1, 1959 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Onaway. They were married nearly 53 years at the time of Sallie’s death in 2012.
Surviving Ron are his two sons, Mike (Sharri) Beatty of Allen and Mark Beatty of Onaway; grandchildren, Nicklaus, Mitchell and Jacqueline; brother, Marvin (Marma) Beatty of Onaway; and sister, Margaret Smolinski of Posen; as well as his sisters-in-law, Sandra Freel of Millersburg and Rebecca (Alger) Arkwood of Onaway; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Theresa) Comfort of Atlanta, Donald (Janice) Comfort of Onaway, Everett Comfort of Warren and Nicky (Ann) Comfort of Waterford; many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
Ron’s family will receive friends Saturday January 30, 2016 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Chagnon Funeral Home. A memorial Mass will be held from St. Paul Catholic Church in Onaway in the spring of 2016 followed by inurnment at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.
