Condensed Minutes
December 14, 2015
The regular meeting of the Board of Road Commissioners for Presque Isle County was held at the Road Commission office at 657 South Bradley, Rogers City, Michigan. Chairman Ronald Bischer called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Board Members Present: Ronald Bischer and Thomas Catalano.
Excused: Charles Rhode.
Also Present: Supt/Mgr. Smigelski, Clerk Wirgau and County Road Engineer Straley.
Visitors: none.
Minutes:
A motion was approved to accept minutes from November 23, 2015 meeting as presented.
Ayes: All.
Accounts Payable:
Motion by Catalano (Bischer) to approve the December 14, 2015 accounts payable in the amount of $252,436.27.
Ayes: Catalano and Bischer.
Supt./Mgr Report:
• The 489 Bridge opened to travel at noon on December 4, 2015.
• Additional information from the Big Cut Land Company was presented to the Board.
• Crews have been grading roads, ditching, brushing and installed several inches of gravel on Airport Road.
• Old road name signs are for sale for $10 each. The listing is on the Web page and available in the office, plans are to use any proceeds for the upcoming 100th Anniversary Open house in 2016.
• Ruth Ann Street off Pine Hill Road in Ocqueoc Township has been surveyed and will need to be brushed along roadway approximately 700’.
• Permission has been received from property owner on south side of Belding Road to remove trees along the right of way.
County Road Engineer Report:
County Road Engineer Mark Straley updated the Board on upcoming changes in the bridge classification system, road projects completed during 2015 and projects scheduled for 2016.
New Business:
Motions were approved to decertify two bridges and certify one bridge to the Presque Isle Road Commission Bridge Structure Inventory.
Motions were approved authorizing a clothing and safety allowance and increasing CDL physical reimbursement.
A motion was approved setting the County Engineer salary at $3200.00 for 2016.
Motions were approved to adopt resolution 2015-9 and enter a MERS Health Care Savings Program Participation Agreement.
A motion was approved authorizing the Chairman to sign an Employee Association Addendum to Contract agreement.

A motion was approved to enter executive session for the purpose of discussing administrative salaries. 11:02 a.m.
Chairman declared meeting open at 11:35 a.m.
A motion was approved setting the 2016 salary for administrative personnel and three hourly personnel.
The next Board meeting will be Monday, December 28, 2015. The re-organizational and first regular meeting of 2016 will be January 4, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.
There being no further business it was moved by Catalano (Bischer) to adjourn the meeting at 11:40 a.m.
