Condensed Minutes
October 5, 2013
The regular meeting of the Board of Road Commissioners for Presque Isle County was held at the Road Commission office at 657 South Bradley, Rogers City, Michigan. Chairman Ronald Bischer called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Board Members Present: Ronald Bischer, Thomas Catalano, Charles Rhode
Also Present: Supt/Mgr. Smigelski, Clerk Wirgau
Visitors: None
Minutes:
A motion was approved to accept minutes from September 21, 2015 meeting as presented.
Ayes: All
Accounts Payable:
Motion by Catalano (Rhode) to approve the October 5, 2015 accounts payable in the amount of $173,671.82
Ayes: Bischer, Rhode, Catalano
Supt./Mgr Report:
• Center and edge line painting has been completed.
• The Township Association meeting (MTA) will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the North Allis Township Hall.
• The 489 Bridge project is on schedule. The north side tail span of beams is due to be set today.
• The new truck is in the shop and being fitted out at Truck & Trailer.
• Supt./Mgr is preparing next year’s budget and listed several equipment needs for the Road Commission.
• 634 Highway from the Village of Posen to Polaski Road is 99 percent complete. Bolen Asphalt will be coming back this week to do some minor touch up work.
• Crews are hauling winter sand from Carmeuse this week.
• Various administrative, personnel and operations matters were discussed.
Unfinished Business:
Chairman Bischer reported on a complaint received about a road in North Allis Township.
New Business:
A motion was approved setting a MAP21 Public hearing for Monday, October 19, 2015 at 8:30 a.m.<
Clerk Wirgau presented third quarter financial reports and discussion was held.
Motions were approved allowing expenses for attendance at the Straits Area Council Meeting in Mackinaw City on November 3, 2015 and the HR quarterly meeting in Gaylord on October 27, 2015.
A motion was approved authorizing expenses for influenza vaccinations for interested employees.
The next scheduled regular meeting dates are Monday, October 19, 2015 and Monday, November 2, 2015.
There being no further business it was moved by Rhode (Catalano) to adjourn the meeting at 10:37 a.m.
