Minutes of Board of Education
A Regular Monthly Meeting of The Board Of Education of the Posen Consolidated School District No. 9 was held on October 19, 2015 in the High School Library. The Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Board President Kenneth Wozniak.
Members Present: Dennis Budnick, Danielle Kowalski, Anna Soik, Jesse Chappa, Brian Konieczny, Kenneth Wozniak, and Andrew Stone.
Members Absent: None.
Also Present: John Palmer, interim superintendent Lucia Bruski, recording secretary.

Pledge of Allegiance
Moved and supported to accept the minutes of the Regular Board of Education Meeting of September 21, 2015.
Ayes: All. Motion carried.
Moved and supported to approve the 2015/2016 bills for payment.

Communications
Student Council Update
Lauren Romel, President of the Student Council presented the Board of Education with updates on school activities. The student body is looking forward to a great year.
Mary Vratanina – ISD Superintendent
Mary presented the Board with information on House Bill 4822. There will be a Special Education Millage Renewal request on May 3rd, 2016.

Portable Classroom
Move and supported to have Mr. Joseph Kuszajewski remove the portable classroom form school property and to clean up the area at no cost to the school.

Close Up Washington
Mrs. Jane Bielas presented the Board with alternative Senior trip ideas. More information can be obtained at Posen School Central Office.
Focus School Quarterly Report
The Board was presented with the quarterly report that was sent to the State. Denise Beland, Title 1 Teacher and Hollie Kuchnicki, 4/5th Grade Teacher both do a tremendous job ensuring the success of our students.
School Safety Information Policy Agreement
Moved and supported to adopt the School Safety Information Policy Agreement.

Administrator’s Report
Resignation of Assistant Track Coaches
Moved and supported to accept with great regret the resignations of assistant track coaches Chris and Jade Olds.

November Board of Education Meeting
November’s Board of Education Meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 17th instead of Monday the 16th.
New Business
Policy for Fundraising Activities / Senior Trip Clubs
The Executive Committee will put together a policy with Bylaws to govern the fundraising activities at Posen School.
Moved and supported to appoint Linda Sharpe and Jenny Zdybel as sponsors for the Senior Trip Club class of 2019

Donation
Moved and supported to accept the donation from Mitchell Mulka of time and materials for the installation of counters on the concession stand by the track / football field.

Resignation of Interim Superintendent
Moved and supported accept the resignation of Interim Superintendent John Palmer, effective on November 30, 2015, and thank him for his dedication and services to Posen Consolidated School.

Hiring of Superintendent
Moved and supported to hire Mrs. Michelle Wesner as the Superintendent for Posen Consolidated School beginning on November 30, 2015.

Meeting Open to Visitors
Discussion on the lengthening of the school year to 180 days effective with the 2016/2017 school year.
Danielle Kowalski will compile a Service Directory for future use should the need for outside services be required.
