John Janis Grote, 77, of N. Hollywood, California died September 12, 2015 at his home under the care of hospice.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; a brother, Harry (Austra) Grote; and a sister, Vija (Robert) Adams. John was born in Riga, Latvia and came to the U.S.A. in 1950.

His ashes were buried at sea during a memorial October 10, 2015. John was a dearly loved husband, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
