Condensed Minutes
September 8, 2015
The regular meeting of the Board of Road Commissioners for Presque Isle County was held at the Road Commission office at 657 South Bradley, Rogers City, Michigan. Chairman Ronald Bischer called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Board Members Present: Ronald Bischer, Thomas Catalano and Charles Rhode.
Also Present: Supt/Mgr. Smigelski and Clerk Wirgau.
Visitors: None.
Minutes:
A motion was approved to accept minutes from August 17, 2015 meeting as presented.Ayes: All.
Accounts Payable:
Motion by Catalano (Rhode) to approve the August 17, 2015 accounts payable in the amount of $308,566.88.
Ayes: Catalano, Rhode and Bischer.
Supt./Mgr Report:
• Paving on Klee and South Rogers Road is completed and shoulder gravel has been placed down.
• Supt./Mgr attended a meeting last week at Montmorency County Road Commission to meet with Representative Cole and Senator Stamas’s Representative to discuss road funding packages. Six counties attended the meeting along with numerous township officials from Montmorency County.
• Crews will be working on Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) roads for the next several weeks to finish up on the current contract year.
• One of the bronze 489 Bridge plaques will be donated to the Onaway Historical Museum.
• Regular 8 hour work (5) days will resume on September 14, 2015.
• Monument box replacement quotes were discussed.
• Supt./Mgr is preparing a list of County Primary roads for center line and edge line painting.
Unfinished Business:
Post retirement savings accounts were discussed. A representative from Municipal Employees’ Retirement System will be invited to a
A motion was approved to advertise for annual financial audit bids. The next scheduled regular meeting dates are Monday, September 21, 2015 and Monday, October 5, 2015.
There being no further business it was moved by Rhode (Catalano) to adjourn the meeting at 10:10 a.m. Ayes: All.
