Condensed Minutes
August 3, 2015
The regular meeting of the Board of Road Commissioners for Presque Isle County was held at the Road Commission office at 657 South Bradley, Rogers City, Michigan. Chairman Ronald Bischer called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.

A motion was approved to accept minutes from July 20, 2015 meeting as presented. Ayes: All
Accounts Payable:
Motion by Rhode (Catalano) to approve the accounts payable in the amount of $93,787.95. Ayes: Rhode, Catalano, Bischer
9 am – Bid Opening
A motion was approved awarding an asphalt bid to Bolen Asphalt Paving for South Rogers Road and Klee Road projects.
Visitors:
Board correspondence from an Allis Township resident was reviewed and filed.
Allis Township Supervisor Tollini asked about local roads in Allis Township.
Supt./Mgr Report:
• Crews were out yesterday cutting and removing trees throughout the county after the storm that passed through. Cleanup is continuing today.
• The Roost Road culvert has been completed and payment received from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife.
• Supt./Mgr reported on the MCRCSIP and CRASIF insurance pool meetings recently attended. Presque Isle Road Commission has received an award for the 5th year for the good employee safety record.
• State maintenance projects are being worked on.
A fiber optic line is being installed along River Road, Ocqueoc Falls Highway, Ocqueoc Road and Ocqueoc Lake Road at the end of August.
House Representative Peter Pettalia has invited the Board and Supt./Mgr to attend a transportation meeting in Cheboygan on Wednesday, August 12, 2015.
The East 634 Highway project from the Posen village limits to Polaski Road is tentatively scheduled to begin on September 16, 2015 and be completed by October 31, 2015.
Unfinished Business:\
A motion was approved entering an employment agreement with the Employee Association for the period of July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2018.
A motion was approved to hire two full time employees.
New Business:
A motion was approved authorizing the Chairman to execute necessary documents related to a pension plan change for new hires.
Motions were approved to enter a contract with Michigan Department of Transportation for the reconstruction of the 489 bridge and two road projects in Krakow Township next year.
The next regular scheduled meeting is Monday, August 17, 2015 at 8:30 a.m.
There being no further business it was moved by Rhode (Catalano) to adjourn the meeting at 11:00 a.m.
