Condensed Minutes
July 20, 2015
The regular meeting of the Board of Road Commissioners for Presque Isle County was held at the Road Commission office at 657 South Bradley, Rogers City, Michigan. Chairman Ronald Bischer called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Board Members Present: Ronald Bischer, Thomas Catalano, Charles Rhode
Also Present: Supt/Mgr. Smigelski, Clerk Wirgau, Employee Association Representatives Russell Martin, Richard Lenard, Richard Price

Minutes:
A motion was approved to accept minutes from July 6, 2015 meeting as presented.
Ayes: All
Accounts Payable:
Motion by Catalano (Rhode) to approve the accounts payable in the amount of $152,484.51.
Ayes: Catalano, Rhode, Bischer.
Supt./Mgr Report:
• The Roost Road culvert was installed last week and the road will be reopened later this week.
• Federal aid funding has been fully restored for 451 Highway project (County line to Molski Road) with a tentative bid opening date of September, 2015.
• Supt./Mgr attended MTA meeting at Moltke Township Hall and also Krakow Township Board Meeting last week.
• The E. 634 Highway project bid was awarded to low bidder Bolen Asphalt & Paving and the 489 Bridge project was awarded to Kloote Construction. Tentatively the bridge project is scheduled to begin in early August, 2015.
• A 48” culvert on Bolton Road has a hole in it and will need replacement. Department of Environmental Quality has been contacted regarding the necessary permit.
• A Michigan Department of Transportation Bridge Quality Control review was conducted last week.
• Supt./Mgr will be attending annual CRASIF and MCRCSIP insurance pool meetings this week in Mt. Pleasant.
• Alpena Aggregate has approximately half of our gravel crushing done at the Trout Road pit.
• Crews are working on the Roost Road project, durapatching on East Grand Lake Road between Rayburn and the Alpena County line, roadside mowing and brining.
Unfinished Business:
A motion was approved to enter executive session for the purpose of discussing employee negotiations. 9:25 a.m.

Chairman Bischer declared the meeting open to the public at 10:23 a.m. and Employee Association representative left the meeting.
New Business:
Motions were approved authorizing expenses for Supt./Mgr, Clerk and Commissioners to attend the Straits Area Council Meeting at Mackinaw City on August 4, 2015 and the Annual NMARC/ASMRC conference in Frankenmuth September 15-17, 2015.

There being no further business it was moved by Rhode (Catalano) to adjourn the meeting at 11:04 a.m.
