Miss Michigan title goes to Alpena native

With an answer to a question right in her wheelhouse, Alpena native Emily Kieliszewski impressed the five judges enough to win the title of Miss Michigan Saturday. After earning a berth in the final five, Kieliszewski went first in the final question round, the last judged portion of the pageant. She was asked why she would be a good choice to serve as Miss Michigan. Excited to answer the question, she told the judges her perserverance  showed she believed in the scholarship program and its benefits to young women.

Kieliszewski, who earned the title of Miss Sunrise Side in 2009, and made the Miss Michigan Pageant this year as Miss Stateline, had competed in the last six Miss Michigan Pageants, showing her dedication to the program.
