William H. Morgan, “Papa,” 85, a lifelong resident of Onaway, died at home on Friday May 29, 2015.  The son of Ernest Alvin and Mary Irene (Gilbert) Morgan, William was born July 14, 1929 in Waterford Township.

Surviving William are five daughters, Lorrie Stoner of Lake Orion, Anita (Bryan) Sims of Hessel, Nettie (Josh) Soules of Afton, Sherie Tucker and Londa (Bill) Harman, both of Onaway; his son, Scott (Carol) Morgan, also of Onaway; as well as 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

William also leaves his brother, Leo (Susie) Morgan of Gaylord; two sisters, Joyce (Jack) Crabtree of Middleburg, Florida and Carolyn (Darrell) Wilson of Keystone Heights, Florida; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. William was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Patricia (2007); his daughter, Joy Morgan; his son-in-law, Milton J. Tucker; and his granddaughter, Andrea Crist-Gardea.

A memorial service will be held at the Chagnon Funeral Home Saturday June 6, at 11 a.m.  Jeff Badgero will officiate.  Following the memorial service will be a private family graveside service with Onaway VFW Post 5857 performing military honors at North Allis Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation in memory of William Morgan to their favorite children’s charity.
