Lafarge meeting will be open for public comment

Presque Isle Township officials will be conducting an informational meeting Saturday (May 2) to discuss Lafarge’s zoning request.

The board of trustees also will be discussing some of the documents and agreements that are posted on the township’s Web site.

The meeting begins at 11 a.m. at the township hall and will be open to the public.

While the Advance published information that was provided that the meeting would not be open to the public, township officials have since been told by their attorney that the meeting has to be open to comment or it could be in violation of the Open Meetings Act. Supervisor Mark Devers will be limiting comment to two minutes apiece.
