City Minutes week 18

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ROGERS CITY CITY COUNCIL

HELD IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS ON APRIL 7, 2015

 

Mayor Sobeck presided and called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.

PRESENT –Adair, McLennan, Nowak and Sobeck.  ABSENT:  Bielas.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Nowak/Adair, that the minutes of the Workshop and Regular Council Meeting of March 23, 2015 and Special Meeting of March 26, 2015 be approved as written.

Ayes – All, the motion carried.

CITY CLERK’S REPORT:

CHECK AND INVOICE APPROVAL:

McLennan/Nowak, that the following total fund expenditures be recognized as payments made and payments to be made, in the amount of $413,816.82 and the Mayor authorized to sign the check register.

Ayes – All, the motion carried.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

GRANT APPLICATION

RESOLUTION NO. 2015-37   

McLennan/Nowak, to authorize City Mgr. Hefele to not proceed with the grant application to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Parks and Recreation Boating Infrastructure Program at this time.

Ayes – All, the motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS:

ROGERS CITY AREA SENIOR & COMMUNITY CENTER REQUEST

RESOLUTION NO. 2015-38

Nowak/McLennan, to approve the request of the Rogers City Area Senior & Community Center to hold a “Classic Cruzers” car show on May 23, 2015 which includes use of the parade grand stand, the closure of Superior Street from Second to Third Street and use of four picnic tables.

Ayes – All, the motion carried.

NEW HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN

RESOLUTION NO. 2015-39  

McLennan/Adair, to approve a Letter of Understanding with the Police Officers Labor Council and American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees in regard to health care and authorize the Mayor and Clerk/Treasurer to sign said letters of understanding.

Ayes – All, the motion carried.

AUDIT RFP

RESOLUTION NO. 2015-40  

Nowak,/Adair, to approve the bid from Quast, Ja

nke & Company for the audit for FY2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 in the amount of $6,400 for each year audited.

Ayes – All, the motion carried.

ADJOURNMENT:

Mayor Sobeck declared the meeting adjourned at 7:29 p.m.
