Harbor Springs ends Lady Hurons’ season in district

A swarming defense by Harbor Springs and a cold-shooting night ended the season for the Lady Hurons. Playing in the district semifinals, Harbor Springs took a 41-19 win over Rogers City in Boyne City Wednesday.

Logan Fleming paced the scoring attack with eight points.

The Hurons never did get into a rhythm, as the full-court press caused turnovers. Logan Fleming set up Cassidy Purgiel’s bucket with six minutes left in the first quarter to tie the score at 2-2. After that, it was all Harbor Springs.

Fleming scored eight points and Purgiel added seven. Desi Smillie and Kelly Ellenberger were the only other Hurons to score, each contributing two points.
