Peggy Anne McNamara
Peggy Anne (Atkins) McNamara, 84, of Birch Run passed away at Maple Wood Manor in Clio January 5, 2015. Peggy was born January 4, 1931 in Millersburg to George and Grace (Strong) Atkins.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Edward; seven stepchildren, James (Diane) McNamara of Flushing, Michael (Pam) McNamara of Swartz Creek, Helen (Max) Mitchell of Birch Run, Edward (JoAnne) McNamara of Birch Run, Christopher (Diane) McNamara of Clio, Mary Ann (Paul McFarland) Gust of Montrose and Jeanette (David) Buthker of Birch Run; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters-in-law, Lee Atkins, Jean Atkins, Barb Atkins and Margaret Periard; three brothers-in-law, Robert (Janet) McNamara, the Rev. Thomas McNamara and Richard McNamara; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Perry, Willard and Andy Atkins; sister-in-law Vangie McNamara; brothers-in-law Thomas Lafferty and William Periard; and a grandson Michael Mitchell.
Visitation and a Scripture service were at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run Wednesday, January 7. The funeral Mass was Thursday, January 8, at Ss. Francis and Clare Parish in Birch Run. Interment will be at Birch Run Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Ss. Francis and Clare Parish or Birch Run/Taymouth Educational Foundation.
