Marcellus W. Cassidy
Marcellus W. Cassidy, 94, of Onaway, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Tendercare Health Center in Rogers City. Known to most as Mike Cassidy, he was born in Oakland, California May 16, 1920 to Marcellus W. Sr. and Mary (Fingleton) Cassidy.
Surviving Mike are his son, Marc (Liz) Cassidy of Chicago, Illinois; four daughters, Paulette (Ken) Schick of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Anne (Jim) Heier of Petoskey, Pat-Therese (John) Merrifield of Muncy, Pennsylvania, and Mary Cassidy of Rogers City; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; as well as his brother, Monsignor John Cassidy of Pensacola, Florida; and a sister, Sue Mendlesohn of LaCanada, California.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 12, 2014 from 4 – 9 p.m. with the funeral to follow the next day, Saturday, December 13, 2014 beginning at 10 a.m., all at the Chagnon Funeral Home in Onaway.
The Rev. Daniel Ahern from Our Lady of the Snows will officiate. Mike’s final resting place will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Onaway.
