Holiday fireworks and celebration set for Saturday

No need to wait for the Fourth of July to view fireworks. The shimmer and sparkle of what has become an Onaway tradition will be seen at the Moran Iron Works (MIW) fabrication facility along M-68. This is the 15th year it will be conducted. The festivities begin Saturday at 3 p.m. The holiday celebration includes hayrides, a bonfire, Santa Claus and gifts for children 12 years old and under. The evening concludes with a grand musical fireworks display. Fireworks will begin at dusk (approximately 6 p.m.).

“Dress warm, bring a camera, and enjoy a merry, fun-filled holiday night in Onaway,” said Marilyn Kapp Moran, who handles public relations for MIW. The company has its corporate headquarters in Onaway, but also operates a manufacturing facility in Cheboygan and a port and fabrication facility in Rogers City.
