Cards keep it close in loss to Central Lake

Cardinal Stadium will be a buzz tonight with the traditional homecoming game. This year the opponent is Gaylord St. Mary (1-3).

The Snowbirds have been tagged with blow out losses against St. Ignace, Joburg and Central Lake over the last three weeks.

The Cardinals (1-3) lost to Central Lake last week on the road; however, the boys played them tough a week ago, losing by only two touchdowns, 28-14.

Both schools have defeated Pellston. Onaway won a close one, while GSM shut them out, 45-0. So, it will be interesting to see how the teams match up in this 6:30 p.m. contest.

Against Central Lake, Cortez Washington led the Cardinal rushing attack with 92 yards on 17 carries.

Rushing touchdowns against Central Lake were scored by Cody Morell and Ely Shockley.
