Russell A. “Rusty” Johnson
Russell A. “Rusty” “Russ” Johnson, 93, of Wabash, Indiana, passed away at 4 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Wellbrooke of Wabash. He was born to the late Rex and Alta (AcMoody) Johnson May 4, 1921, in Millersburg.
He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Johnson-Smith, of New Haven, Indiana; two grandchildren, Serena Smith, M.D. of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Michael Barcher of Las Vegas, Nevada; and two great-grandchildren, Shawn Michael Cory and Matthew Russell Cory. Russell was also preceded in death by three brothers, Louis, Eugene and Harold Johnson; three sisters, Doretha, Margurite and Vivian; and a great-grandson, Zachary Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash, Indiana 46992, with the Rev. Melinda Kammerer officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Memorial Lawns Cemetery in Wabash.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
