Arthur F. Domke

Arthur F. Domke, lifelong resident of Ocqueoc Township, died at home, unexpectedly, Monday, April 28, 2014. He was born 91 years ago, on January 9, 1923, in the same home where he died.

Arthur was the son of Friedrich and Alma (Kortman) Domke.

Surviving Art are his daughter, Arliss (Arvid) Larson of Manistique; son, Michael (Vicki) Domke of Millersburg; granddaughters, Erika (John) George and children, Kailyn and Brody, Jennifer (Mark) Jacobs, Jill Larson, Julie (Rick) Mushing, and Janel (Fred) Rinehart; grandsons, Jonathan Larson, Jeff (Maura) Larson, Jerene Larson, Jerome (Becky) Larson, and Jhae (Julie) Larson; as well as 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Art also leaves two brothers, Ray (Jean) of Shelby Township and Rueben (Elly) of Mountain Home, Idaho; close friend, Evelyn Wolgast of Ocqueoc; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Visitation was Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the Chagnon Funeral Home in Onaway. The funeral service was at Trinity Lutheran Church Thursday May 1, 2014. The Rev. Denise Scheer officiated.  Onaway Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5857 conducted military honors at the graveside. Art’s final resting place is in Ocqueoc Township at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
