Three Lady Cards earn all-conference honors

The winter sports season has come and gone and athletes, coaches and fans are patiently awaiting a break in the winter weather and a chance for spring sports to begin.

The Onaway High School girls’ basketball team saw its season come to an end with a loss to the Posen Vikings in the district finals. The team finished 11-11 on the season.

Lexi Szymoniak and Erika Price were named to the second-team all-Ski Valley Confernence while Devin Bristley earned honorable mention honors.

Price led the team in scoring as she averaged 11.4 points per game. She also led the team in three-point percentage, hitting 38.9 percent from beyond the arch. She shot 68.5 percent from the free throw line and averaged 4.3 rebounds per game as she shot 35.4 percent from the field.

Szymoniak averaged 11.1 points per game and led the team in rebounding average at 10.6 per game. She shot 39.9 percent from the floor.

Bristley averaged 7.7 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game as she shot 26.3 percent from the field.

Jade Galer averaged 5.1 points per game and 8.9 rebounds per game. She shot 53.2 percent from the free throw line and 29.8 percent from the field.

Morganne Badgero led the team with 61 steals and 51 assists. She averaged three rebounds per game to go along with 2.9 points per game. She shot 51 percent from the free throw line.

Shelby Wolgast shot 40 percent from the field as she averaged 2.5 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game.
