Search for missing man continues
The search for a missing Rogers City man continued Monday afternoon in harsh, winter-like conditions.
Michael Schepke was reported missing two-and-a-half hours after he was last seen walking in the vicinity of Birchwood Drive near Morrill Road at about 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Search crews were combing a wide area, and going door-to-door, in attempt to locate the missing subject. They have been as far north as Nagel Highway. He was wearing black jeans, a dark blue coat and a black type baseball cap. He is 6’ 1” and about 175 pounds.
According to a Presque Isle County sheriff’s office press release, Schepke is a diabetic, mentally handicapped and needs his medication.
A helicopter searched the area last night. The search from the air continued Monday after 1 p.m.
He is said to have regularly gone on walks, always ret
within a couple of hours.
