Onaway has six make all-conference

Six members of the Onaway football team received all-conference awards.

The Cardinals’ leading wide receivers garnered first-team accolades. Seniors Chris Cleaver (14/368/5 TD) and Carlos Bautista (14/254/3 TD) received the highest honors. Bautista completed 16 passes for 234 yards when pressed into duty at quarterback. He threw for one touchdown and ran for another as a running back.

Among the second-team selections are linemen (senior) Frankie Ramos and (junior) Cody Whitsitt, along with quarterback (senior) Matt Tollini and receiver (senior) Tommy Auger.

Tollini passed for 1,005 yards, completing 66 passes on 141 attempts. Eleven completions went for touchdowns. He also was the leading rusher with 575 yards, including a touchdown.

Auger caught 25 passes, which was by far the most receptions on the team. He scored four touchdowns. Statistics were found at maxpreps.com

The Cards finished 2-7 overall and 1-4 in the Ski Valley South.
