The Onaway High School football (OHS) team saw its season end Friday, when it dropped its finale at Pickford, 41-6. The loss dropped the Cardinals’ record to 2-7, while the Panthers improved to 6-3, and qualified for the playoffs, with the win.

The Cards’ offense accumulated less than 30 yards in the game, while the defense gave up nearly 300 yards. OHS trailed 8-0 after one quarter, 28-0 at the half, and 35-0 after th

ree quarters.

There were two bright spots in the contest for Onaway – Matt Tollini’s 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in quarter four and a season-low 56 yards in penalties.

Elijah May and Jaykob Soeltner combined for 150 rushing yards and four touchdowns for Pickford. Tollini ran for 19 yards to pace the Cardinals. Tollini also was in on 21 tackles.

Carlos Bautista was in on 15 tackles, Chris Cleaver was in on 12, Noah bacon and Frankie Ramos were in on eight apiece, D.J. Fenstermaker was in on seven, and Tommy Auger and Cody Morell were in on five each.
